My Amplifiers

This page is for educational purposes only.  These are some of my personal amps and not for sale.  These are examples of what I think you should look for. 

I especially like the "Silver Face" Fender models with reverb and tremolo.  The "Black Face" models that came before these are very expensive.  The 1968 to 1974 are very similar and half the price.  Still hand made point to point all tube amplifiers.  Sometime around 1975 Fender started using the "Pull For Boost" feature on the volume control and signaled the end of all tube production amplifiers.

I use these for recording.  Each has different characteristics and sound better with different guitars for different kinds of music.   These are my favorite amps of all time.  All have JBL speakers.  If you can find similar I would recommend it.  Scan over pic below for description.
