STUDENT NEWSLETTER 12 March
2006
I hope this letter finds you all happy, and healthy. Check out the new STUDENT RESOURCES AND SERVICES page. Everything you need on one page. Congrats to student Michael W. that snagged a Les Paul Artisan and a 1968 Telecaster for a fraction of their value. Keep your eyes and ears open kids. There are many guitars stashed away in the closets of people that have no idea what they are worth to you and me. I hear of these kind of deals several times a year. Watch out! You know it's hard to find a good song these days. I guess I am officially a geezer. When did rapping become music's number one form? Twenty people on stage and not a one playing a musical instrument. Just folks rapping. Irresponsible rapping at that. Freedom of speech does not mean it is ok to promote violence. Music should be beautiful and not violent. Accentuate the positive. Stay on the sunny side. What happened to positive messages in music? The Beatles message of all you need is love or Earth Wind and Fire's inspiring 'your a superstar no matter who you are' or beautiful songs like 'My Girl'. The Temptations! NOW THERE WAS A GROUP! Not only did these songs sound great, but they made you feel better, made you feel inspired, and made all of our lives better. Now thugs on stage pretending to be musicians yelling crap into a microphone is THE most popular music selling today. This scares me more than just a little. The average age of the record buying public is fourteen years old. Is this what you want to teach your kids?
