Thanks Ed!
45 years ago on 9 February 1964 The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. I remember it well. I was 10 years old. My mother told me there was to be a new band on tv that night that was suppose to be the worlds biggest band. "Bigger than the Beach Boys?" I asked skeptically. After seeing the Beatles for the first time I knew instantly it was a big deal. The next day at 6th grade at St. Anthony's even the nuns were acting differently. They were excited and joyful for the first time ever. All the kids were acting differently too. The world got a little hipper over night. For those of you that don't remember, here is a You Tube video of what that year was like with the Beatles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfsvE4j4ExA After 4 years The Beatles were a different band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXG83p2nkHw By 1970 they were no more. But boy howdy did the music live on. Now 45 years have passed and I have been playing The Beatles for the entire time. My favorite book is The Beatles Complete that I have had rebound 3 times and it is ready for 4. I have just finished a cd of Beatles songs. Instrumental solo and duet arrangements. I have been playing these songs for so long and so many music changes that they sound more like me than the Beatles. You can definitely hear my bluegrass, blues, country, and rock influences in these interpretations.
I have worked on this for two years. I read an inspiring book written by the recording engineer present at all The Beatles recording sessions. The book is Here There and Everywhere My Life Recording The Music of The Beatles by Geoff Emerick. Thank You Steve! Very helpful. Some day I will try and get permission from Michael Jackson to release my cd of Beatle songs. I will post some free samples soon.
This is the first cd I have ready this year. Next week on Valentines day my cd of Guitar Instrumental Love Songs will be ready. I plan on using it as a demo to get high dollar wedding gigs. It also can not be sold unless I get permission from ASCAP or BMI and pay fees to get the rights to publish someone else's works. This is what motivates folks to write their own songs. 14 5s flourish. I hope to have a cd of my originals out soon. I have been busy. This year is the year of recording. It is your musical future. Write a song and record it. Put it on the Internet and make money. Why not? I love to record. So do many of my students. Very affordable and easy now days. You will learn more about music by recording than anything else you can do. Stay Tuned! Peace and Love. Rock On, Joe "TheGuitarman" Pacciano, C.G.P.
