STUDENT NEWSLETTER   14 January 2006     Joe Pacciano, C.G.P. aka JoeTheGuitarman

I hope this letter finds you all happy,  and healthy.

MAN! It is DRY here in Texas.  Recently we have seen humidity dip down into the single digits!  This is very hard on guitars.  Especially the acoustic guitars.  When wood gets dry it cracks.  Cracks are not good in a guitar.  There are humidifiers made for guitars.  If you have a good acoustic you will DEFINITELY want one of these.  You can find them HERE.

A lot of folks got a guitar for Christmas and start lessons in January.   I look forward to new students.  Very exciting when considering the prospects.  Each new student could possibly be the next Jimi Hendrix or Chet Atkins.  We NEED new guitar heroes!  The next one might be you!  New students do not have any bad habits to unlearn and make the best guitar players.  Nothing compares to getting a strong foundation to start with.  Proper productive practice techniques can make or break a guitar player.  Not to mention positive thinking never hurts. I am happy to help.

Guitar/Bass student Brad and his band DIVERGENCE have been out rocking around Dallas and East Texas.  Their trailer was stolen at the gig last week while they were inside performing.  So let them know if you have an extra covered trailer you want to sell that is big enough to haul a band in.  Thank goodness the trailer was empty when it was taken.  Please support local music.  Catch Divergence at

Sometimes being a guitarist you get to meet some pretty neat people.  Student Chris met this guy at Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth last week.  Do you know who this super famous guitar player is with Chris?  You should know this guy.

Chris P. and Buddy Guy at Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth

Hint:  He was Jimi Hendrix's biggest influence.   Has a Fender polka dot Stratocaster with his name on it. Who is this GUY?  The greatest living blues man Buddy Guy of course.  Chris got to hang with Buddy for an hour before the show.  They sipped cognac together before Buddy went on.  Buddy Guy still gets stage fright!  Hard to tell with that ten million dollar smile of his!  We love you Buddy!
