2005 HO HO HO! I HO HO HOpe this letter finds you all happy, and healthy. Ok. Thanksgiving is a week past and now time to think Christmas. Three and a half weeks away. Of course Christmas Gift Certificates are available for lessons or merchandise and can be mailed or emailed to you or them up till the last minute. Music is a gift that lasts a lifetime! Great stocking stuffers. Got your Christmas songs down yet? Here is some helpful material: JAM ALONG CHRISTMAS CD These are the easiest arrangement of 12 all time favorites. Ho Ho Ho! As part of the education process the student learns that equipment is a huge issue. The guitar that was good enough to learn on is now holding them back. You can only sound as good as your gear will allow. You get what you pay for. Chet Atkins would say; "How can you make a beautiful sound if you do not first know what one sounds like?" Thank goodness it does not cost an arm and a leg to get a top of the mountain guitar. I can go on for hours on why I recommend the guitars that I do. Versatility, affordability, playability, classic, good feel, fantastic sound, good looking, and great investments that will only increase in value. The only way I can justify and expensive guitar is to think of it as an investment. A guitar is only worth what it is worth used. You will probably not live long enough to see a new guitar increase in value. The guitars that are twenty years old and older are very collectable. You want made in the USA. As much time as you spend with a guitar you want the best. That is what I buy. When a student is ready to trade up to the real deals I am happy to help them find what they want or show them one of mine that is for sale. I stand behind my guitars 100%. If you do not want to buy them, I am totally comfortable keeping them! In the past five years of investing in the stock market and not seeing ANY appreciation, the guitars have gone up 200% and show no signs of slowing down. Dealers are holding on to these early reissues. VERY hard to find. I get everyone I find. Which is not often. The 1982 to 1984 USA Fender Vintage reissues are now almost impossible to find and are going in the $3,000 PLUS range now. The 1986 to 1993 are also SUPER nice and getting harder to find. The twenty year old plus guitar has been played and broken in like NO new guitar can ever feel. The wood has aged and is sounding better than NO new guitar can ever sound. A Custom Shop model cost just as much but is not near as nice! You can always tell fake wear on the "Relic" models with their bright necks with the words CUSTOM SHOP stamped on the back of the headstock. The early reissues are a much better bet. IF you can find them. This past week I was lucky enough to score not one, but TWO great guitars. This first one from my home town in Louisville Kentucky. I love my job! 8-6-82 USA Fullerton Vintage '57 reissue Stratocaster with low V001XXX serial number! Should be here Monday.
