STUDENT NEWSLETTER 31 July 2009     Joe Pacciano, C.G.P. aka JoeTheGuitarman

PAST STUDENT NEWSLETTERS

I hope this letter finds you all happy, healthy,  and enjoying the summer time.

Good time to play guitar in the air conditioned indoors.  Write a song!

OUCH again!  Two out of the last three guitars I got on Ebay were wrong in expensive ways.  Buyer beware.

OH BOY!   NEW Jam Along now available on iTunes or Amazon.com.

This is a big deal in my life as a guitarman.  For most of my career I have played in bands,  toured the country,  a lot of studio work,  and taught about 100,000 people how to play the guitar.  This has been so fulfilling that I have neglected to promote or market any of my original songs written over the past 35 years.  It was always too much trouble and expense.  Now things are different.   We can record at home on our computer and get the same quality as the big recording studios.  We don't have to drive to Nashville and knock on doors.  We now can market our songs on the Internet.  Exciting opportunity.  I hope this opportunity spurs a resurgence in real music that we have not seen in almost 30 years.

I will not know the results of sales until 15 August, 2009.  I will keep you posted on the results.

Here are the music videos to both songs.  From YouTube.

Blue Noodle #3

Blue Noodle #3 is a southern rock blues guitar solo instrumental I wrote.   Noodle refers to the solo.   Jimmy Rodgers named his songs; Blue Yodel #? when he could not come up with a better name.  Blue Yodel #1 is better known as T For Texas.  12 bar blues in A.

Guitar Lover

This is one of my original compositions called Guitar Lover.  Instrumental country surf rock guitar song tribute to my favorite guitar instrumental songs of all time.   Fun and easy to play songs like Pipe Line,  Walk Don't Run,  Wildwood Flower,  Under The Double Eagle,  and Bull Durham that we all grew up listening to.  This song is also very simple.   The only chords are E C7 and B7.    I hope you get a kick out of it.

In an effort to go green I am once again offering on line guitar lessons.   I tried this a few years ago but the technology was not right yet.   Today the quality depends on your Internet connection speed.   If you have a web cam and and IM service like Google's Gmail (free) we can do our lessons on line.  No long distance fees.   Lessons will be scheduled like a regular 'in person' lesson.  It is a live lesson so be prepared to ask questions.  For more information go to ON LINE LESSONS

New feature on the newsletter!  Videos of the great guitar players.   Today is a one of my favorite all time guitar players from the 70s.  Roy Buchanan.  I got to see Roy in Louisville, Ky in 1975 play this song.   Years later I saw his version of Hey Joe in a song book.  There were so many notes that one bar took up one page.  If you never heard of Roy Buchanan you should Google him right now.

Enjoy.
