This is the time of year here in Texas when we switch from A/C to furnace heat. This is a radical change in humidity in your house. Bad for guitars. Especially high end acoustic guitars. It is pretty cool to be a guitar player in Texas. For $30 per year you can have a cool ENJOY TEXAS MUSIC license plate. The coolest part is that $22 of that goes to a fund to buy instruments and give private music lessons to kids that would otherwise not be able to afford it. Is that beautiful or what? Click on the license plate below for application. If you do not know who Blind Lemon Jefferson is you should be ashamed. New feature on this web site: By popular demand; E MINOR PENTATONIC SCALE WITH EXTENSIONS. Student Austin L. and his band IMPACT will be holding an outdoor concert on the grounds of First Presbyterian Church of Richardson (319 La Salle Drive) on 15 December at 4 p.m. Austin is the lead singer, lead guitarist, and even plays harmonica. They will be playing a few church songs, some rocking Christmas Carols, a few contemporary songs, and one of Austin's originals to the neighbors in the area. A good time will be had by all. On the way here from Nashville is a VERY RARE 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard in super rare custom color Candy Apple Red. The more research I do on this guitar the better it becomes. This was one of the last guitars to come out of the Gibson Kalamazoo facility. Just in from Miami Florida. A 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. The one with the Gibson logo on the pickup covers. I almost bought one of these back in 1977 in Louisville Kentucky at Jimmy Brown's Guitar Emporium on Bardstown Rd. It was like new but I could not afford it. It was $350. Now it is worth 20X that amount. A 1969 like this just sold on Ebay for $21,500. Currently my number one and not for sale. But you all know how that can change!
The search for the perfect tone never ends. But after years of consideration, trial and error this is my rig more or less.
