When my students attend live shows I always recommend they try to get back stage to meet the artist. Why not ask? All they can do is say no. Most of the time you will be welcomed backstage. When I suggested it to Chris P when he was going to see Buddy Guy at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth back in 2006 he laughed. He tried and was invited back stage as the sole visitor. He got to hang with Buddy for 45 minutes talking about guitar, blues, and women. Buddy asked Chris to share a shot of cognac with him before he went on stage to perform.
